re-authored DVD looks wavy!

I have been re-authoring a DVD of a live performance: the new menu now looks fine and tidy, but once the disc is burned (I’ve tried with 2 different programs) the video looks kinda… wobbly!! it’s not throughout, but often there is a “wavy” (horizontal-ish) sort of effect (it looks more pronounced when there are movements). The video was shot in the US so it’s 29.97 fps (I’m UK based) and I’ve kept the same frame rate for the ripped file (and Encore project). I’ve so far burnt it to a re-writeable file, just to test it – I guess the DVD type shouldn’t matter? Any help would be appreciated! -
