    I just got the latest upgrade for AE and Premiere, and the thought occured to me, “did the upgrade blow away the files for the Mercury Playback Engine support and raytracing in AE and Premiere Pro?”. In case you don’t know, the files are called “raytracer_supported_cards.txt” in After Effects, and “cuda_supported_cards.txt” in Premiere Pro.

    I’ve found that the Premiere Pro update did indeed reset the file which I had added my card name to. The After Effects update did not change the file. So if you happen to have taken my advice (borrowed from a number of other posts – and exhaustively studied on the Studio 1 site), you’re going to have to go back into the Premiere Pro text file and add your card name back to the file:
