  • Random white frame appears on MPEG render

Hi there, I have been trying to render a ten minute video that was edited in Premiere and imported (as a sequence) into AE for colour correction with color finesse, and titles / name straps addition.

I rendered to MPEG2 for DVD and a random white frame was appearing just between one cut. So I opened up the after FX project and scrubbed through frame by frame, but there was no white frame.

So I re rendered, and the white frame appeared again. So I tried rendering to raw .AVI thinking it might be the compression, but the white frame was still there.

So then I took that raw .AVI, imported it into a new project and manually duplicated a frame to place over the white frame, as a quick fix.

To my surprise, the white frame was still there after rendering this to MPEG2!

    Any ideas?

    Hi Dave,

The footage is actually SD PAL DV, captured from tape to hard disk but as yet not re rendered, so I don’t think that’s it. I really don’t know why it’s doing this.. maybe some anomolly or maybe a frame is dropped but AE isn’t showing me.. maybe due to the way it handles interlaced… but I don’t have a clue

    Thanks,
    john
