Random jump in video levels upon rendering comp
I’m having a really odd problem with my current project.
I am doing a simple rotoscoped wipe using an animated mask to reveal a change of clothes for a character. There are two shots that make up the second clothes set and so i have precomped these.
I’m working with pal widescreen 10bit uncompressed footage, and rendering back out to the same format.
When i play back directly on the timeline the effect works perfectly. As soon as i render it (or do a Ram preview) i get several frames into the clip and the video levels leap by 5-10% (according to my scope). I have rendered this almost a dozen times now, and the frame when the leap occurs appears to be random.
I have checked every clip and they all seem normal. I have no filters or keyframes or anything i can think of that could cause such a leap. In fact, all i have are the pre-comp and one other video track with a single feathered mask to do the wipe with.
Any suggestions of things to try? I have already rebooted the mac, and used macjanitor to clean out its cache etc.
thanks
