    Hi all,

I’d like to add varying degrees of flicker (opacity)to a scene randomly. Can anyone tell me an expression string that might do this. I’d likfe to then figure out how to control amount, randomness, duration etc with sliders. Just need to know the basic syntax.

Drop this into the opacity expression line of the footage you want to flicker:

    wiggle(30*thisComp.layer(“Null 1”).effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”),100*thisComp.layer(“Null 1”).effect(“Slider Control 1”)(“Slider”))

then create a null object layer and call it “Null1”

On “Null 1” add 2 Expression Controls -> Slider Controls and name them “Slider Control” and “Slider Control 1”

“Slider Control” will effect the frequency of the flicker (1 to 30 times a sec)

“Slider Control 1” will control the amount of transparency (0% to 100%)

Adjust these sliders from 0 to 1(they’re keyframeable as well)

    Hope this helps,
