  • ‘Random Fade Up’ text preset – any way to overlap fades?

Posted by Tom Carter on February 8, 2007 at 4:04 am

Hi, I’ve been using the ‘random fade up’ effect preset in a title sequence that I’ve been working on, the only problem is that with this effect each letter fades in completely before the next starts, which doesn’t really look as smooth as I’d like; I’d like each successive letter to start fading in when the previous one is at, say, 50% opacity.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to get the fades to overlap, or, failing that, achive the look I’ve described above without having to go through and individually animate each letter (I’ve got a lot of text to get through :)?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to look at this,

    Tom

    Hi,

    Try the following:
-Apply the “Slow Fade On” preset instead of “Random Fade Up”
-Twirld down the “Advanced” menu under “Range Selector1”
    -Swith on “Randomomize Order”
    -Play with the “Random Seed”

    I hope this may help.

    Salut.
    Serge
