  • Random Colors with Multishader and Transparency with Color Shader Simultaneously

Imagine a group of clones that need to be random colors from a set palette. Problem is solved with multi-shader applied to the cloner with a random effector with color mode on. So far so good.

Now imagine you need another effector to animate the opacity on and off using the MoGraph “color shader” in the alpha or transparency channel kind of like this: https://vimeo.com/55230430

The problem now as I see it is, both the multi-shader and the transparency are driven by the color values of the clones. I have not been able to figure out a way to achieve both random colors and an opacity fade-in effect simultaneously.

To further complicate the situation, I also want the random colors to be shifting (and looping) via shader effector with noise, so applying fixed colors to individual clones isn’t an option.

Thank you for your help, I have been to the ends of the internet and back on this one all day! Can it be done?
