That’s common issue if you are limited in ram speed and CPU power.

The workaround, other than a computer upgrade, is a preview monitor.

Also check in your Ram Preview Options that the skip option is set to (0).

    Salut.

I have a quad g5 with 4 gigs of ram and a nvidia 4500 graphics card with 4.0 terabytes of storage on an xraid out put to a 42″ HD Plasma preview monitor. The skip is set to 0 and I still have the same problem.

How big are the PSD files, in pixels?

720×480.. I am use to the ram preview continuing to loop until the space bar is pressed. When I hit the ram preview it goes through the first run then stops its not calculating frames then previewing the comp. when I hit the tab it goes straight thru.

i had framerate issues just hitting the space bar, but if i clicked the ram preview button and let it make all the frames then it will play back real time once it is done.
