    Have I completely imagined that you can RAM preview a comp in the background while still working in After Effects CS6?

    Tried searching it but haven’t found anything. Maybe it was a dream?

    Cntl + Enter will do a background cache comp, you can do that then a RAM preview which will be pretty fast since everything would be cached.

    The command is called Cache Work Area In Background. It works as Johnny described.
