Hmmm? I can’t seem to figure out how this happened. But for last few months Vegas has been crashing after i do a RAM preview. It will let me view it the first time. But then if I preview it again, it will play, but as soon as it stops – the PLAYHEAD gets stuck in PLAYMODE, and the application freezes. Other times , this occurs, after the first preview.

I thought it was the RAM cache was to to high so i set it for the defaulkt of 384mb. Still crashes.

I did have both 8c and 9c on the system, but un-installed 8c after getting settled with 9c. This can’t be be related, can it? That’s silly.

Yeah, I could preview to player, but the RAM preview is convenient and right there. Any ideas?

You might hope that it’s not, but Vegas shares a lot of components and uninstall one version has the potential to affect the others. I would hope it’s not related but if it’s the only thing that you changed about your system from when it worked and when it didn’t, then it could be related. 🙁 (I doubt it though because it does play the first time)

I used the Pre-rendered option, and it doesn’t crash after a viewing. But is it normal to cut the previews into little bits? I selected a 29 second clip and it pre-rendered it into 4 separate clips. Is that normal?

That might depend on your media type and what can be smart rendered and what needs to be re-rendered.
