    Hi guys,

I’m having a strange problem whereby my RAM doesn’t appear to be flushing.

I get memory errors once I’ve run a preview to the max capacity, and cannot view even a single frame afterwards.

If I purge all my memory, I can start the process again, but as you can imagine, it’s a right ol pain.

Have I leant on some mysterious ‘DONT FLUSH ME@ switch somewhere??

    any ideas??

    cheers

No, there’s no secret switch. This problem is a known weakness and has actually to do with AE’s caching system. It’s very sporadic and hard to pin down, but one of these days Adobe will get it sorted out (I hope). For the time being the only suggestion is to not max out your RAM usage. I find that if I leave AE the tiniest bit of breathing room, I don’t get such errors. since it will handle the cache as expected.
