Need help – RAM memory problem

Vegas Platinum 10 is aborting with low memory warning. I am using i7-2600 with 8GB RAM and 1T hard drive.

It isn’t the amount of RAM. I’m using just 16% before Vegas. Using just @33% when Vegas aborts.

Seems that Vegas itself only uses 800MB when it aborts.

How do I raise the limit from 800MB?

Last night it’s been aborting at the start. It’s using 700MB when my projects total only 600MB in clips. What gives? Help!

Search the forum for “low memory”.

Tried Hideaki’s first method. It helps. Apparently, Vegas slows down the processing (takes longer) and uses less RAM.

“preferences > options > video tab > set the rendering threads to 1 and the dynamic ram preview to 0. if that doesnt work save the files and install vegas 10.0c and reinstall all your plug-ins etc and then its fixed that way. ”

But, the real solution is to increase the RAM usable by Vegas. Any ideas? Does not appear to be a system RAM issue because I am using only @33% of total (8GB).

There is a workabout. Break your project into parts. Then, combine the wmv files into one big file. Apparently, Vegas has no problem with that.

Why does Vegas suddenly abort when you are working within known tolerances? IMO, there’s a bug that Sony needs to fix. Hate to have to reinstall every time that happens.

Or use Windows 7 x64 and the 64-bit version of Vegas Pro. Works for me.
