We have a G4 833 set up with FCP 4.0,used for editing DV training programs. The computer runs 10.2.8 OS and has 600megs of ram. Just wondering if we can load 10.3.9 on this computer and load FCP 5.0. We want to be able to move projects back and forth to our main suite without having version issues. I am not worried about opening other programs if FCP is open. Is 600megs enough?, if not, how much?

    Thanks

As per Apple, 512MB of RAM is the minimum. 2GB or more is recommended. RAM is relatively cheap these days, particularly for systems that don’t require the fastest, state of the art RAM, so if it were me, I’d upgrade the RAM by a gig or more.
