RAID5 possible with SONNET FUSION D500P?
Hello!
Do you know a workaround to build a RAID5 out of SONNET FUSION D500P storage systems (with port multiplier)? At the moment we use four D500P storage systems, each consists of 5x2TB Western Digital Green Caviar Harddisks that are formatted as RAID0, and all four are connected to our MacPro via a SONNET TEMPO Sata E4P Card.
For data security reasons we finally want to switch to a RAID5 solution and now the big question is, if there’s any possibility for us to still use our D500P storages systems – may be the only solution would be a PCIe host controller card which supports Port Multipier & RAID5 and has externel eSATA connectors, right?!Here everything (?) is mentioned you have to know about our storage systems:

…as far as I know there are several chips that provide port multiplying and there it isn’t mentioned, which chip is used – I guess it’s necessary that the PCIe controller card hast to support this specific kind of port multiplying, right? Hopefully there is at least one…Do you think that one of the following cards might work to build at least one RAID5 with one of our D500P storage systems?:
LaCie Professional SATA II PCI Express Card:

…here it’s mentioned that SiI3726 and SiI4726 SATA Port Multipliers are supported – may be the same with the other ones, cause they look quite equal.Any kind of help would be awesome! Thanks in advance.
