    Hello,

I am looking to get a raid for my editing workflow. The way that I would like to use the SATA/ Raid (I assume I can do this) is to do the following:

*I do not need my raid to be portable*

    a) Have a fast processing speed so that I can use HDV and SD on my G5 and swap out with my mac pro if possible via firewire 400/800

    b) be able to hotswap drives so that I can just ARCHIVE a full project with it’s media on 1 drive, pull it out when it’s done and put the drive in a drawer for safe keeping with all the media on that drive. and then put in a fresh drive when I’m ready to move on. I want to keep all my media files online and i want to have them sorted by project per drive. pulling a drive out when a project is done and replacing it with fresh avaialbe storage space.

    c) I could have it mirrored, but that would be excessive, I think.

Can you recommend a good RAID that can do this? I’ve found the following:

    G-Tech

    Fibrenetix

    thanks
    lili
