    Hello all,
I’m having some trouble rendering out an animation. For some reason little blotches keep appearing and then disappearing around the edges of one of the objects which is ruining the animation. I’m using the dynamics module too for simulating natural movement so I’m not sure if this is affecting it or not. I’m using version 9. I’ve uploaded the movie to http://www.pixellab3d.com/v2/blotches.mov so you can see the effect I’m on about. Has anyone any suggestions as to how to get around this?

    Thanks a mil
    Donal

What Radiosity settings are you using? There is special mode for animations that could help to minimize the blotches effect.

    Kind regards,

I’m using object animation. I have my antialias settings at geometry and filter at animation. I’ve something like 600 stochastic samples and 20 min and 80 max. Not matter how much I play with them though I keep getting the same results.

I’ve never had much success with object animation mode. If you can stand the time I’d use stochastic mode, or if not use just area lights or a combination of area lights and ambient occlusion.
