    Hi All,

I’m trying to achieve this effect

As the line follows the path, the trailing edge leaves behind dots that are registered to the background.

I’ve managed to get this far using stroke and ‘radio waves’.

    Close but no cigar.

The problem is that ‘radio waves’ can’t operate in a time-reversed fashion (circles starting wide and collapsing to a central point).

Anyone know how to achieve an effect where the trailing edge of the line devolves into circles that are registered to the BG and decrease in size to nothing over time?

    Many Thanks

    Markus

Hi Marcus, I would suggest using a particle system, circle particle with size over life.

Have you looked into BAO Mask Brush?

    https://aescripts.com/bao-mask-brush/

Since you can use anything as the “Brush”, even another comp, you can precomp your radio dots to be reverse then let BAO do the rest.

Tracode’s 3D stroke would also do this. The lines in 3D stroke are actually a bunch of circles really close together (like a pshop brush) and you can tell the plug in how far apart they are and how big they are.

Ah, legend, I’ll try that. Thank you!
