    Hello Cows,

Have a quick question about the render–> radio wave effect. I need to slow down the rate of birth of the waves – the speed in short. I tried to manipulate the velocity but not quite what i want. I have the amount of rings i need and death set so the waves are a bit soft on the outside, but they are produced too quickly.

Any ideas on how to slow the birth rate but keep the amount of rings?

    Thanks to the cows.

    Cheers

I think you want to tweak the Radio Waves > Wave Motion > Frequency, with it set to 0.1 it takes a little over 10 seconds to emit the second ring or wave.

And Expansion controls how fast they move outward, but I think you got that.

Radio Wave is a fun plugin. Have a good weekend.

As yikesmikes suggests, you should modify the Frequency value in the Wave Motion controls. If you slow down the frequency of wave creation but you want to keep the same number of rings on the screen at a time, you’ll need to decrease the Expansion value, too.

You can find information on Radio Waves effect in the “Radio Waves effect” section of After Effects Help.

If the Help document doesn’t contain the information that you need, or if you’d like to add a tip of your own, leave a comment using the link at the bottom of any Help page.

Todd, thanks for the link, first time I’ve seen that.
