KInda unrelated, but I recently just saw a tutorial on how to split a layer in AE. I thought, surely this must be something other what I was thinking it was. But nope. It was 2+ minutes to say “shift+cmd+d.” I kid you not. It’s like having 2 minutes dedicated to copy and paste. Oh, wait, that’s two things so it’d probably take 5 minutes.

The original poster was reminded that this is a long way around.
However I do feel for his wanting to use this path.
I have been in a few projects where I had to give the powers to be the files in HD format so I had to give them a ProRes version from RCXPro.
Thank god for Thunderbolt2 and ROCKET card.
Now they end user basically edits on their own and if they happen to be using FCPX, then fine.
But as we all know, clients are fussy and decides “hey I want the 4K version fo this!!”.
Thus why the original poster came up with this video.
I for one like it when others make an attempt to put these things together.

I for one like it when others make an attempt to put these things together.”I think it’s awesome. FCPX has been said to be stodgy with relinking, and this shows that’s it actually pretty easy with R3D. I enjoyed it!
