Quicktimes not importing properly
Here’s the scenario-
Exporting a 30 second quicktime from Avid DS with “None” as the codec
Importing into FCP 5.0The result is-
my 30 second quicktime shows up as 29:29
the first frame is duplicated (1st and 2nd frames are the same)
the last two frames are cutI tested this by putting four frames at the beginning (each frame a differnt color) and the same thing at the end.
If I open the same file in quicktime everything is correct.What am I missing?

There may be a couple of problems-
1) The duplication of the first frame is offsetting the audio and video by one frame
2) We often deliver finished elements to clients as quicktimes. I don’t want them to have to clean it up. They should be able to just drop it in their timeline.
3) Final Cut is based on quicktime yet this issue is not present when opened in quicktime, so what is Final Cut doing differently? It’s just not right.
Plus a new discovery- FCP is cutting off one frame from the end in the preview window and when I bring the clip into my timeline it cuts off a second frame.

I did try that, but it didn’t make a difference. Maybe one of the Cowmunity leaders would be able to give some insight into this?
