Had this issue on multiple systems (configurations), so I bet I’m doing something wrong, but what?

Sometimes when I use a “quicktime” video transition, I get a black/green screen instead of the proper (lets say) gradient wipe. The scene will cut to black at the first frame of the effect and sometimes has a green halo effect.

I thought it was when I was transitioning from “nothing”, but it happens between clips too.

I don’t think its a trash preferences type of thing, since this has happened on at least 5 different systems.

    Anyone else have this happen?
    What am I missing?

    After rendering?

once or twice, rendering “fixed” it.

but I often still have black AFTER rendering.
I’ve gotten to where I just don’t even think about these effects, but I like the gradient wipe quite a bit, and would love to use it more.

What resolution are you working with and have you tried rendering at a lower bit depth just to see if it’s not a 10bit issue?

I’ve had it happen in DV/NTSC and just today in DVCPro 720p60
