  • Quicktime thumbnails…

Posted by Charlie Wu on December 4, 2009 at 11:19 am

    Hi all,

I used batch export to export three sequences. After the batch was exported, two files showed up with little thumbnails next to the file name in finder except one. I used quicklook to preview the movie and scrub through the entire movie without problem. This happened to me before. I just don’t understand how finder decide which file to create thumbnails. really confusing, do anyone have an answer for this, seems-like, random act?

    Thanks,

    CW

    Hi Charlie,
Files have something call “File Finder Info” that helps the Finder retrieve them, display thumbnails and so.
Many times these FFI is not updated.
There are applications that puts all fix this and makes your computer run better: DiskWarrior, TechTools,..

so it’s a glitch in the OS? I am just afraid that the file might be corrupted.

    Hi Charlie,
That of the thumbnails is very usual.
I work with EX-1 so normally with many clips. Some time there are clips which thumbnails doesn’t display properly. It shouldn’t be any corruption. If the play OK in qt you shouldn’t worry much.
    Best,
