Quicktime reports “704 x 480” for 10bit uncompressed footage capture via Decklink

February 26, 2007 at 6:51 amOK , I’m REALLY confused! I capture hours of material from a Digital Betacam DVW-A500 to FCP via my Declink HD card through the SDI connection. Everything seems fine, but when opening these files in QT player, Quicktime reports the video dimensions as 704 x 480 (normal size) and 720×486 (display size). FCP reports 720×486 (which is what I expect).
So the question is, what does NORMAL SIZE mean? What is the actual size of these files??
Thank you for any help you can toss my way that will explain this!

February 26, 2007 at 7:06 amHi,
This is a result of the Aperture settings in Quicktime 7 and beyond.

Nothing to worry about. Trust the dimensions returned by Final Cut Pro.
