    Not sure what’s going here…

I’m trying to create a QT reference file (to use with BitVice), but the ten minute reference clip is nearly 2GB. I exported the same thing self-contained as a comparison and that one ended up just over 2GB. The export times were exactly the same. All effects were previously rendered.

    What gives???

    Thanks,

Sounds like you’ve got filters on everything in your time line, which means FCP has to render it for a reference file. Reference files can’t access render files on your system, just the original video and audio files.

    Cheers
