  • Quicktime Pro 7 causes crash in AE 6.5.1

    OK –
Just purchased and installed Quicktime Pro 7. When I open AE, it goes through the splash screen. As soon as I click on [FILE/OPEN], the entire program goes away, disappears. I’ve tried deleting the .ini file, thinking there might be something suspect there, but no dice. I had to delete QT 7, and go back to QT Pro 6.

Interestingly enough, my version of AE 6.0.0.172 on another machine plays just fine with QT Pro 7. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Hi,

    Try trashing AE’s prefs file.

    I hope this may help.

    Salut.

As I posted in my original question:

I’ve tried deleting the .ini file

I have tried that, but it didn’t help. Thanks for trying.

    Hi Joseph,

Sorry about that. Did you update your video card driver after installing QT? Another thing that may help is to reduce the hardware acceleration of your graphic card.

I hope this may help. Let us know.

    Salut.
    Serge
