i have a blackmagic deck i just got, and i was wondering if there was a way to playback a rendered animation through quicktime and be able to see the output on a tv monitor. to send output thought blackmagic to the tv i have to put the rendered animation into premier or after effects and blackmagic can sent it through there and be able to see it on the monitor. but i find it a pain to have to take the rendered movie and place it in another program instead of just opening it in quicktime and bam, there it is. am i missin a codec or what? if anyone can help me with this, itd be much appreciated.

    Try this:

Open Quicktime preferences (I use 7.0.1) and under “general” check the box “use high quality video setting when available” then look under the “full screen tab” and you will see your video monitor arrangement, select the little one that is your Decklink desktop viewr/TV monitor. Quit prefs and open a quicktime movie. If you now select to play “full screen” under the view options the movie will automatically start to play in the TV at full rez & speed. Pretty cool! There may be other ways but this works for me.

    Good luck,
