quicktime output not present
hi ,if anybody could help me ,ive recently upgraded to release 10 architectural edition 64bit and for some reason quicktime movie output is no longer shown in render output settings, i have re-installed quicktime but nothing ,,i had no problems in relaese 9 32bit as i had AVI and Quicktime output available,
does anybody know why the option for quicktime is no longer shown?

Apple does not have a 64 bit Windows version of Quicktime. Maxon developed a hack … err, workaround … for this in R11.5, but it’s not available in earlier versions.

yes thanks for the response ,, i kind of figured i should have left out the 64bit stuff as i thought this would get the blame .. i also have release 10 32bit version that also has the same problem, no quicktime output option but thanks for the reply anyway.
it is not a 64bit issue. c4d is not in someway seeing that i have quicktime installed.

Just to be sure, have you tried running the 32 bit version of Cinema under Windows 32 bit? Because if you’re trying to run it under Win64 then you’re going to have the same problem with QT.

hi there ,,yes you are right version 10 running in 32bit OS does support QT, this is now a real problem whats the point of using 64 bit ??. I see from your first reply i will need c4d ver 11?,
i prefer QT cos the quality looks better, is there no way of getting it to work in 64bit?. thankyou for your replies

No, there’s no way to get it to work under Win64. You could render a .tif sequence and boot into Win32 to compile it, but that’s about it.
OTOH, QT isn’t the only game in town. DiVX makes some nice codecs, for instance.

I had the same problem.
Just bought the latest and greatest (well, ok, within my budget) dell notebook with win 7 64 bit and the Quicktime option was not available in Maxon where it WAS in my xp based system. Also the “microsoft RLE” option did not work but the microsoft video 1 (I presume these are codecs) did work and the output looks fine.
So apparently, in c4d v 11.0 on win 7, quicktime (.mov files) are not supported.
