  • quicktime not transcoding correctly?

I am trying to take 2 quicktime movies made with the Avid QT Codec and put them to DVD using encore 1.5 and for some reason the audio (and video?) is not transcoding properly. The audio sounds high pitched like one of the alvin and the chipmunks, and it looks ike the video might be slightly jumpy. Any ideas on why? The transcode settings I’m using is 7mb VBR 2 Pass. Note: the quicktimes play fine prior to running em through encore.

    Suggestions would be much appreciated!!

If you are exporting as QT ref files, make them self-contained movies, and export the audio as aiff.

They were self contained QTs, but I didn’t export the audio separately. I’ll try your suggestion, thanks. Whats the reason behind having to do the audio separately? Any idea?

It’s easier for Encore to handle, and *may* prevent sync errors to some degree.

If you imported an interleaved or multiplexed video/audio stream, Encore would have break out the audio anyway when the project was built.
