Great Forum! As a user of Vegas since version 4, I have become an ardent fan of the program and feel it is superior to its rivals. However, there is the occasional bug that I experience that throws me for a loop now and then.

The most recent one I’ve encountered is importing Quicktime files to Vegas. For some reason, I am only getting the video image and not the audio that accompanies it. Just to make sure the file is not corrupted, I imported it into Premiere Pro 2.0 without a problem. I also never had quicktime problems with version 6 of Vegas. The latest update to 7.0b did not fix the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, what were your solutions or workarounds? I could edit the file in Premiere Pro, but I’d much rather do the edits and renderings in Vegas, as it is a far superior program.

Thanks for any help you might suggest.

    Happy Friday!

Is the latest version of Quicktime installed on your machine?
Make sure to select the “Quicktime 7.1.3 for Windows 200/XP” (seond option) and NOT the one that includes iTunes unless you want that as well.

Thanks for your feedback. I should have mentioned in the original message that I do have the latest version of Quicktime. It doesn’t seem to be a problem with Quicktime as much as it is with Vegas reading the file.
