  • Quicktime files have Incorrect Vid Rate in FCP

    Hi!

I have just converted a load of tiff sequences in after effects for editing in FCP. I used interperet footage, compositing setting and quicktime export settings all at 25fps. When i open the clip in quicktime, the movie info shows 25fps. For some reason, most of the sequences are showing up as 32fps, for no aparrent reason.

I have a whole load of these renders and it is too much work to do again within the timeframe. It there and way of accessing the quicktime wrapper or header info to find the difference between the clips which work and the ones which import as 32fps vid rate.

This is a real toughie… and very odd. I have noticed someone else has had this problem a few years back on this forum, but no one has worked out why.

    I appreciate any help.

    Nick

    Really wiered workaround.

I just discovered that if you open the file in cinematools and conform the 25fps clip to 25fps, it will import correctly into fcp.

Yeah. I posted about this awhile back.

Seems to be some kind of Quicktime metadata bug. Cinema Tools seems to fix it.
