I am having problems trying to open my quicktime exported movie on a PC. This seems to be happening with all of the sequances that i exported AFTER upgrading to FCP 5. When I try to open it, I get a dialog stating the quicktime program does not have all the necessary components to open the file…but yet it open fine on my mac. The older exported files from FCP 4.5 is opening fine on the PC. oh, i’ve already upgrade my pc to quicktime 7.

export —> quicktime –> use current settings

    FCP 5
    OSX Tiger

    thanks!

What codec are you exporting them as? Perhaps the PC you’re using might require such codec.

Or perhaps you’re exporting a reference movie. Your export needs to be “self contained” if it’s leving your computer obviously.

exporting as current settings which is

    DV/DVCPRO-NTSC

    29.97
    frame size: 720×480 NTSC DV.

These settings are the same as before and it works fine on my PC.

Just a shot in the dark here. If you are funning FCP 5, you are most likely running Quicktime 7. Could your PC possibly need to upgrage to a newer version of Quicktime viewer?
    Just a thought…
