Quicktime error in Sony Vegas 12
Hi there, I have been using Sony Vegas 10 for a while and I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 8, and I also upgraded to Sony Vegas 12. After installing Vegas 12 on my new system I found that all of my quicktime video clips that I used in Vegas 10 on my old computer aren’t working on my new system, it’s saying that Quicktime is not recognized or something, and it gives me a link to download it, but I already have the newest version of quicktime installed.
I googled this and couldn’t get a clear answer so I was hoping someone here would have experience with this issue. Thanks in advance

What codec do the files use? QucikTime is just a container for video, it’s not a video format. You must still have the correct codecs installed in order to play the files. For example, if the QuickTime files use the Avid DNxHD codec, you will need to download and install it because it doesn’t come with the QuickTime installer.
You can use MediaInfo to find out what codec the files use. Then install the proper codec from the manufacturer that makes it. Do not, under any circumstance, install something called a “codec pak”; just get the one codec that you need.

The newest version of QuickTime has been a problem for a lot of people. Try an older version and see if that helps.
