  • quicktime error -50 during export to compressor.

Anyone run into this and know what it means?

Is there a place to find out what error means what?

    My workflow is as follows.

100% gopro footage so, simple 3 minute videos of biking / snowboarding etc.

Import to FCPX, edit / color in proxy mode, switch back to optimized media, send to compressor, compress with “youtube 720p” setting and then it fails halfway through with a quicktime error -50

Very frustrating as I make very simple short videos that don’t have much to them. I have had more problems with FCPX than any other software to date.

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thank you!

    OK all,

I apologize, this topic has been brought up MANY times.

Sounds like it’s either a corrupt slow / sped up clip or that I ran the audio track past the video track (which I think I did).

I am pretty sure that’s it’s a corrupt slow mo clip but, to be brutally honest it just really pisses me off that FCPX has so many bugs in which I have to track down files and replace them.

I have been doing basic edits / commercials for several years and have never seen a program with so many random bugs. Or maybe it’s just me…

I had this error just last night. Deleting the render files and re-rendering fixed the problem.
