    Hello, esteemed sheppards,

for some time now i’ve been trying to get vegas 7.0e accepting some quicktimes, but it just says ‘unexpected error’ and closes.
i read a lot about those ‘authoring components’, but i can’t seem to find them.
i tried a clean install of quicktime, but never got the option of installing those components.

    could anyone help me out?

    thanks in advance!

    robert.

    running vista on a core2duo.

Do a Google search for possible solutions as a number of Vista users have reported problems trying to use Quicktime 🙁

thanks, mike, indeed a lot of problems there.
but premiere does put them on the timeline without any complaints…

The authoring components are unlocked if you purchase Quicktime pro. $29 last I checked.

    thank you,

i tried it with quicktime pro, but it didn’t help.
i even tried it with quicktime alternative, but that didn’t help.
how come Premiere can handle the quicktimes? is that something built into the program then?
anyway, this is the error code:

I get the best QT renders using 3ivx codec. It’s cheap and gives controls not available with the Sorenson in Vegas. They have a trial version.
