  • QuickTime Conversion with Chapter Markers?

Posted by Steve Price on November 9, 2008 at 1:56 pm

    Hello,

Is there a way of exporting my timeline to via QuickTime Conversion with my Chapter Markers included?

The reason I’m asking is because I’ve just edited a widescreen project of a concert which I’d like to output to iDVD. I can export to QuickTime Movie with markers embedded but that’s no good because the movie is anamorphic so appears squeezed in iDVD.

The iDVD guide says you have to export via QuickTime Conversion using custom settings – ie DV PAL (I’m in the UK) with Widescreen 16:9 checked and a pixel aspect ratio of 1024 x 576. This works just fine, but there’s no embedded markers because FCP doesn’t give me the option to include markers when exporting via QuickTime Conversion.

Is there a work-around for this?

I would be very grateful for any advice…

    Thanks a lot,

    Steve.

Export a QT Movie (no QT conversion). Open it with QT player and in the Movie Properties (Com-J)> Video Track> Visual Setting, change the aspect ratio to 1024×576. Will display 16×9.
    Then bring it to iDVD.
