I would avoid it like the plague, until you update all your ProApps and your OS.

    Have a wonderful day.

I have an additional question: I too have FCP 5.1.4, and my Quicktime is 7.3.1. I haven’t upgraded further, having heard various horror stories.

Is it safe to upgrade to anything more recent than 7.3.1, or should I stay where I am until I upgrade Final Cut? Thanks.

    Hi Duncan,

Since my question here, I readed many opinion on many forums and I concluded that I will keep my Quicktime to the version 7.3.1 that is correct for Final Cut 5.1.4 and my system 7.4.11.

I made update to my iPod Touch (2.2.1)(iTunes 8 and Quicktime 7.5.5) on a PC not on my Mac !

However I readed that some are no problem with the Quicktime update with FCP 5.1.4 but not enough for to ‘push’ me to update mien !

So some errors on my reply (you certainly understood that English is not my first language…)

It is the update 2.1 for iPod (not 2.2.1) and ‘mien’ is mine !

May be others errors that I don’t see…
