Is it me or did they leave out a few things in the Quickstart Manual? Especially with the figure made from cubes. Should I bother going through the rest of it or seeking something more comprehensive? Any suggestions?”

I just got C4D a few weeks ago. I just hunkered down with the ref manual and went through it trying each function in the program to get acclimated as I went. Not a hoot of a time, but you really get to know it by the end. Also the duck race tutorials on the discs that come with it give you a practical sense in how to use the tools.

Like Chris said, give the “Duck Race” tutorial a try. I went through it and became a lot more knowledgable because of it. The Quickstart has a few nice tutorials to get you started. But, remember, it’s not meant to be deeply comprehensive. After all, it’s just a quickstart. 🙂

I will definitely go through the duck race tutorial. I was looking for a thorough explanation of the tools with the Quickstart because the Intro of the Duck Race said to do that first. All it did was confuse me when things didn’t work as stated.

    Thanks,
