Quick way to go from FCP 6 to flash video on my server for client
Hi all,
First, let just tell me that I am aware of the many many posts out there about this issue. I looked for many hours but for some reason I cannot solve this. I have a HD project, ProResHQ 25fps, 13 minutes long. I need to get it into an acceptable format to put on a passworded page on my server to show to a client. Clock is ticking and I trying to not be overtaken by stress. What I thought was a quick task has really proved to be difficult. I need to put a smaller sized and of course compressed video with a skin on my server so my client can watch it there with one click.
I have FCP 6.06, Compressor, the full CS4 suite including Flash and After Effects which I know how to use.
I have tried to output to various flv, f4v, mov…. I converted my .mov to f4v using Adobe Media Encoder. I managed to get something playing on my site when I imported the flv/f4v to Flash using the video importer in Flash. But the skin does not show up when I publish. I tried to work with compressor but it will not let me export h264 for web due to some installation problem. Then I tried export using Quicktime compression, but the video seems very choppy. I must be doing something wrong in Flash. . Please let me know if you need more info what I tried…
All I need is a 10 minute solution because it has to be done today…. Is there any step by step guide out there?? I respect your detailed knowledge but right now I cannot embrace much more information than “do this” …. it has been a long week of finishing this thing.

If you can make a flv, h.264 or mp4, you then need to embed that in a player and publish it as a swf. Then you can mount that on your site. Checkout the JW Player. Also, certain encoding programs like Squeeze 6 have the option of automatically embedding your flv in a variety of swf players.
