I’m looking at all the text presets and the wonderful animated gif’s that After Effects shows on the help page. My dumb question of the new year is… how do they achieve they stylized look of the text animation? I turned on Motion blur and get nothing. Is it done with expressions? Is here something that is right in front of my nose that I’m missing?

    Thanks in advance
    Brian

A couple are the “Bloom fFlower” and “Clockwise Entry” in the curves and spins presets.

Do you have motion blur checked for both the comp and the text layer?

Now I do. thank you very much. Why do you need two buttons pushed? Just wondering.

Motion Blur slows down rendering and previews, so if you’re in a hurry to see a preview, you just hit the M switch for the comp, and the blur for all layers is disabled in one click. It’s a convenience thing.

Then it has to be re-enabled before rendering, of course.
