    Hi,

minor problem but something I wasn’t sure if I can do. Am doing a project where I assemble 6 seperate sequnces that will eventually be played simultaneously. I’m tring to make a matrx preview for a client, dragging the six sequence s into a seventh one, rescaling the size so they can be viewed as two rows of three. Even after a full render it appears the machine can’t play them. They just hold on the current frame. I’m using a quad mac g5 with aja io. Have I hit a buffer limit or something? Any other ideas to resolve? thanks.

    Odd…

    I’d check the normal things…

View – External Video – OFF or ALL FRAMES if you are going to an external monitor…

Check the size of the canvas — make sure it’s set to FIT TO WINDOW…

Dbl check the sequence settings and make sure they’re still something normal… DV/NTSC or whatever.

    IS this DV? HD? HDV???

    Hmmmm

Also, what drive is the media stored on? It might not be fast enough to play back 6 streams of video. FW40, for example, cannot do this.

Ah — good point. The media isn’t on your system drive either, right? — render scratch too. I’ve been at fault after installing FCP to forget to change the scratch and have it default to my Documents folder!!

Yeah, but after it’s rendered, the video is now just one flattened video stream.

I think Mench it it on the head, your new sequence is not matching your output settings. What settings is your newly rendered sequence set at (hit command-zero to being up the settings) and what settings are the original sequences set at?

    Thank you all,

don’t know I was getting fits. I just trashed settings restarted, rendered and poof! We’re fine. I probably would have just done this anyway but I had a client calling every 5 minutes and I got worried initially that rebooting would add to the problem. Thank you all for your help again!
