  Quick keyboard sub-clipping similar to FCPX?

  I currently use FCPX for a majority of my editing of projects heavy on interviews. It’s very easy to skim through an interview and “tag” parts with keywords, which FCPX automatically sorts into “keyword collections” – similar to the way subclipping into bins works in other programs. I can skim through five interviews and tag keywords (ie. Intros, History, Problems, Solutions, etc..), which makes it very quick and easy to assemble my edited sequence.

  However, I hate FCPX, so am trying to move my workflow over to Premiere. However, it seems to take forever to do a similar workflow. In a perfect world, I could do something similar in Premiere, where I can scrub through the interviewing within the viewer, mark my in/out points, and with one keystroke, it will create the subclip and place it into a specified bin. I’m not worried about the unique name of every subclip, so I don’t want a naming dialogue to appear each time I make a subclip.

  Anybody have any suggestions? Is this possible within Premiere, similar to the way FCPX works? Any ideas on how to better approach my workflow to retain the same efficiency within Premiere?
