I have two deals right now from trusted sellers (people I know) dvx 100a 29hours of use for 1,800 with Panasonic shotgun mic and extra battery 5400mah or dvx 100b for 2,325 1 hour of use with manufacture warranty unregistered, new 72mm Tiffen UV Filter, fire wire cable, and that book and dvd the camera comes with.

How do these two differ from compatibility with avid? What do you guys think is the better deal?
I already have a 8,200 hp workstation 4 gig ram.

    Thanks

I don’t believe there is any compatibility issue with Avid for either of these units, though many recommend using a different DV deck to capture material. DV capture using firewire is OK, though responsiveness is better with a deck than the camera.

If you’re using an Avid Recommened Setup, you should be fine.
