  • Questions Regarding Subclips and “Replacing” Media

I’m messing around with the ready2go series from Digital Juice and want to replace the “Videoholders” with subclips I’ve created. For those not familiar with ready2go, there’s essentially a placeholder graphic with a bunch of events attached to it (Track motion, etc) and you simply replace that placeholder graphic with the clip you want. The problem is, I can only figure out how to do this with full clips (VIA RIGHT-CLICK/REPLACE) and not sub-clips (since they aren’t rendered to a file yet).

Is there another way to drag a subclip over an event on the timeline to inherit its properties? (essentially doing the same thing as “REPLACE media”

Try right-clicking the subclip in the project media and drag it to the event on the timeline and drop it on the event and select “Add as Take”. (I haven’t tried this but it might work)

John, that worked like a charm, thank you! The context menu for right-click dragging has some very productive commands — this is great for subclips.

I’m glad that worked. Yea, adding as a Take is often overlooked but it’s a very powerful feature of Vegas (not sure other NLE’s even have this).
