I just got Adobe After Effects CS3 and am really enjoying messing around with it. Its a really cool program. I was wondering if anyone has a good tutorial for creating a like line of flames. Also I was wondering if it is possible to do a comic/cartoon effect similar to the effect in Sin City with After Effects.

I’m sure these seem like dumb questions to some of you but I am very new at this and am just trying to figure those two things out right now as I really want to experiment with effects like those.

    Thanks for any help.

I’m not sure if the look is exactly what you’re looking for, but Digital Anarchy’s Toonit! plug-in would probably get you close to home. I’m not sure if it works with CS3 though.

ToonIt! does work with CS3 I can confirm. It’s great for giving your video footage that cartoon type effect and comes with a set of filters you can also apply.
