Questions about where put scrath files in my workstation
Hi everyone!
I’m owner of a Sony Vaio F226FMB, is a great laptop but have a huge bottlenack, that is a 5200rpm hard drive.
So, im just bought a OCZ Verteza SSD 120gb SATA III and a Seagate St9750420as with 7200rpm and 16mb cache memory!
Thats definily will improve my workstation! I’m work most of time with Adobe CS5 products, Avid and a little bit of 3D (still learning, so is more for education than real work situations).
So, the SSD is for sure for OS and apps, but im have my doubts about what to put the scracht and temp files.
ok, so the f226 only have 2 spaces for hard drivers, so, i bought too a external usb 3.0 shell for 2.5 hard drivers to put the extra one!
So, i dont know if is better leave the 5200rpm inside the notebook and put the 7200rpm on usb 3.0, i think a lot about security and i really dont know if is better for security have my raw files on the external hardrive or inside.
So!
For now i think to put the files in this orderOCZ ssd – OS and Apps
20gb of 750gb (7200rpm) INSIDE – Scratch files, pagefiles, temp
730gb of 750gb (7200rpm)INSIDE – files, projects, images, downloads, music
750gb of 750gb (5200rpm)USB 3.0 – Raw filesHow i can improve this?
Thx all! : )
