Question regarding playback of video and sound in after effects 6.5 pro.
Newbie Questions:
1. Why can’t I hear my audio in after effects?
2. Why doesn’t my video playback in realtime when I’m viewing it within the timeline (this is before I even apply effects).Thank you in advance.

You can get an audio only preview by pressing the period (.) key on the keypad.
You can get a RAM preview with audio by pressing the asterix key (*) on the keypad.
Pressing the spacebar will not give you audio playback and will not give you a realtime preview.
If you aren’t getting realtime playback by doing a RAM preview I suggest you decrease the scale and resolution of the comp window for starters.JD
