    Dave
When the stations go digital next year (mandatory) will it change the way clients of say.. a church program .. deliver the content to you. I believe I know the answer but there are some at a local Ministry here that are trying to push through a big upgrade budget on the Pastor (who knows nothing about TV but trust these people) and they are tieing it to that event. (The Mandatory digitalazation of Studios).

    Thanks

Others can input obivously it is just his name I see a lot that is attached to a Network TV station. He is also been kind to help in the past. Not that he is the only one however. Thanks to anyone that can shed light

No. TV Analoge broadcast is only affected. The stations and head ends will recieve TV content the same way via tape or digital delivery.

From my understanding the mandatory digital broadcast effort by US broadcasters is just the delivery method in which the content is coming to your TV set.

Does the church have it own television broadcast tower? If your just creating content, the station that is pumping out the signal will be digital. I can not see why you would need to “upgrade” all your equipment so it is digital. It would make it easier I would assume but then again it would be nice if we all had the latest and greatest tech.

Ask the station you are broadcasting from first if you need to make major upgrades to keep your program on the air.

They simply provide content to different stations..

I was 99% sure I knew the answer but I needed confirmation.

Not to be naive or anything.. and the answer is probably in this thread worded differently…

Does this mean I need a new tv? lol

if you are getting tv reception from an antenna, you’ll need an atsc reciever. the feds are pulling the old frequencies(sp) and creating new ones with more bandwidth..
