question about width tool
I use Illustrator exclusively to create letters that I import into a font creator program to build typefaces.
I’m just getting used to getting the hang of the width tool and have an issue I’m trying to work out. After using the width tool and converting the path to outlines ( or expanding appearance) I’m left with an excessive amount of anchor points even when dealing with simple shapes like circles. Check out the image for example. I would think there should only be 8 anchor points in this shape (and using simplify to get rid of some of the anchor points is not an acceptable option BTW). Is there something I’m missing? Thanks
