  • Question about rendering a project for DVD use

Posted by Joe Bello on April 4, 2018 at 1:08 am

I shot video with my Canon XA30 (which shoots 1920 x 1080, AVCHD, 29.97), and edited it in Sony Vegas. Then I wanted to put it on an ordinary DVD to play on a DVD player.
When I rendered the project, I selected the standard “DVD Arch NTSC Widescreen Video Stream”, and it said: 720 x 480. Is that OK? Is that still widescreen? Will part of my picture be cut off?
Any information you can provide on this confusion will be greatly appreciated.
    THank You!

It is still wide screen. The picture will not seem as detailed as 1080p. Go ahead and render to that video stream default and also render the audio separately as AC3. DVD Architect will see the video and audio files with the same name and load the audio for you when you add the video stream.
