  • Question About New 27″ iMac and New Speakers Setup for FCPX Edit Suite

Posted by Adam Helwig on December 11, 2012 at 1:32 am

So, I ordered a new 27″ iMac along with two new Monitor Speakers (the KRK Rokit 6″). My question is…how would I hook these speakers up to the 27″ iMac? Do I need a “go-between” device to go from the speakers to the headphone jack on the iMac? Since each speaker has an output, obviously both can’t feed into a single headphone jack. Any ideas on what I would need and how to hook these babies up?

    Thanks for any help!

All you need is a stereo minijack to 2x 1/4 jack

Just a standard cable. Nothing fancy.

For dedicated volume control you could add a TC levelpilot but you can always use volume on keyboard.

If you want the sound to be in sync with picture, your best bet is to plug the speakers into the headphone port of your video monitor.
